Written by Denise Sawyer on Tuesday, June 26, 2012.

Judah and I had a nice surprise this week.  Our little blueberry bush (the one in my very first post here at the Georgia Blueberry site) was loaded with blueberries!  We picked about 2 cups worth off of our little bush!

Next weekend my husband and I are hosting a baby shower for my sister-in-law and my brother to welcome their first baby into the world!  We are very excited to celebrate with them and have invited all our family and friends to join us.  It wasn’t until I started making out the invitations that I realized our guest list was a lot longer than I had originally thought.

It’s summertime and here in the South that means its time for some front porch sittin' and lemonade or sweet tea sippin'.  I love to entertain during the summer!  It's low key and casual with lots of grilling out and chilling out.

I absolutely love to cook for friends and family.  In fact, hosting a dinner or party is one of my favorite things to do.  I love planning the menu, pulling together the decorations, and doing all the little extras and final touches that really make a get-together special.

Georgia Blueberry Green Tea

It’s the season for Georgia blueberries!  My family uses them in lots of dishes and drinks to get our fill while those sweet little berries are so readily available.

Last week, I shared how my son, Judah, enjoys his blueberries in a Georgia Blueberry Banana Smoothie.  This week, I’ll share one of my favorite ways to wind down in the evenings with Georgia Blueberry Green Tea.

My son, Judah, and I love to do projects together (or as he calls them “pwa-jicts”).  Sometimes our projects are artsy-craftsy type things with lots of finger paints, stickers, and glue, but more often than not, our “pwa-jicts” end up in the kitchen.  We love to cook, bake and create new treats and snacks.  Sometimes, we make extra snacks to share with our friends or extended family and we get the added fun of hand-delivering our goodies.

It’s blueberry pickin’ weather!

It’s blueberry pickin’ weather! The blueberries are ripe, so its time to seek out Georgia Blueberries and stock up - whether that’s at a local farmer’s market or your local supermarket. For me, this time of year means going to our local blueberry farm here in Georgia and picking bucketsful to bring home.
