Georgia Blueberry & Sour Cream Cake

Georgia Blueberry and Sour Cream Cake

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 cups fresh Georgia Blueberries
  • 2 (8 oz.) cartons sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cream butter, gradually add sugar beating well at medium speed with electric mixer.  Add egg, beating well.

Combine flour and baking powder; add to cream mixture, and mix just until blended.  Stir in the teaspoon of vanilla extract.  Spread into a greased 9-inch spring-form pan.  Sprinkle with Georgia blueberries.

Combine sour cream and next 3 ingredients; pour over Georgia blueberries.  Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until edges are lightly browned.  Cool on a wire rack; cover and chill.


  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
Directions:Combine and use as a topping for each slice of Georgia Blueberry & Sour Cream Cake.
