Sumertime Breakfast Ideas

Written by Denise Sawyer on Monday, June 10, 2013.

First off, breakfast is a great time to get the kids into the kitchen.  Are your kids telling you they’re bored yet?  Don’t worry...its coming.  Kill some time, have some fun and get a delicious result.  Plus, your kids are learning when they’re in the kitchen and they won’t even know it! You’ll get to be THAT mom who can report to your children’s new teacher that you kept them learning all summer long. (Pat yourself on the back, mama!)

So, what can you make?  Blueberry muffins are always a winner.  There are some great recipes here on the Georgia Blueberry website, including this one for "Best Ever" Georgia Blueberry Muffins and Georgia Blueberry Sweet Streusel Muffins.

Do you just need something you can throw together and sling at them before you head out for endless activities, a trip to the pool or even a mad dash of errands? Georgia Blueberry Yogurt Parfait are a healthy solution for crunch time.

But be sure to set some time aside to have a leisurely breakfast at home. Saturdays or Sundays are great for this, or think outside of the box and serve breakfast for dinner.  This is a great time to try a new recipe without pressure.  Here’s a great start for your weekend brunch or breakfast for dinner: Lemon Blueberry Pancakes.
